The DIGITALMARINE project (2018-2021 is the fruit of a strategic partnership funded by the Erasmus+ programme, uniting six universities* with the objective of developing an online distance learning platform dedicated to the use of marine model organisms in life sciences.

This platform (https://digital-marine.sorbonne-universite.fr/index.php/digitalmarine) contains a variety of learning materials, such as video lectures, interviews with researchers, virtual labs, 2D and 3D animations, interactive diagrams, and scientific literature. The site aims to provide a more autonomous and differentiated learning experience for Master’s students, and to promote innovative teaching methods such as the flipped classroom and blended learning

The «Handbook of Marine Model Organisms in Experimental Biology» is accessible through the DigitalMarine platform.

This project was conceived in the context of a Master’s-level marine biology practical course at the SBR, the Schmid Training Course (STC).

This project falls in line with previous initiatives related to the development of e-learning tools in marine stations at SU such as e-marin’lab. The amount received by the DigitalMarine project from the Erasmus+ programme is 430 000 euros.
