RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
I am a microbial ecologist willing to gain knowledge on the factors that shape planktonic diversity, and their subsequent impact on biogeochemistry and global climate. My work is focused on meta-omics data from large scale oceanographic cruises, using statistical models to detect functional and taxonomic patterns across microbial communities, and linking them with biogeochemical context. During my post-doc in the ECOMAP team I will investigate the metabolic response of cyanobacteria to nutrients and trace metals fertilization, notably that induced by shallow hydrothermal sources at the Tonga volcanic arc in the SW Pacific.

BACKGROUND
I was an undergraduate student at the Station Biologique de Roscoff from 2012 to 2014, before studying at California State University Monterey Bay for a year. I then joined the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris to follow a masters in theoretical ecology and modeling. I was a PhD student under the supervision of Lucie Bittner (ISYEB, Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle) and Sakina-Dorothée Ayata (LOV, Sorbonne Universités) from 2017 to 2020, working on contributions from meta-omics data to the detection and quantification of functional traits in marine planktonic ecosystems. I then joined Lois Maignien’s team at Université de Bretagne Occidentale, where I worked 2 years on the eco-genomics of marine prokaryotes from the Southern Ocean, using data from the Antarctic Circumnavigation Expedition.

TEACHING
Over 100h of teaching since 2017 in ecological modeling bioinformatics, microbiology and multivariate statistics. Both practical sessions and lectures, from undergraduate to masters level.

CRUISES
MOOSE campaign 2018, 16 days in the mediterranean Sea on IFREMER’s Atalante, with transects between Toulon, Minorque, Sardinia, and Perpignan. Biological sampling through plankton nets and Niskin bottles, filtrations.

OUTSIDE ACADEMIA
I play music in Karaba F.C. : https://www.karabafc.com/
