Our team focuses on coastal benthic ecosystems functioning.

Its goal and scientific approach fit into an emerging discipline, ecogeochemistry, which intends to analyse the ecological systems complexity and build integrative approaches addressing this complexity.

Ecogeochemistry focuses on joint dynamics of living organisms and abiotic factors (physico-chemical dynamics of studied environments) and their interactions, in order to understand the ecosystems properties and functioning.
