Team Translation Cell Cycle and Development

Introduction:
The TCCD team studies how cell cycle and development are regulated by post-transcriptional regulatory events controlling major cellular transitions. These include the conversion of an unfertilized egg into a developing embryo (egg-to-embryo transition), the transformation of a quiescent cell into a dividing cell or of an undifferentiated progenitor into a differentiated cell. We focus on two principal regulatory events: translation mechanisms and kinases signaling. <br> Four major projects are undertaken in the team : Translation and cell cycle orchestration at the egg-to-embryo transition in sea urchin; Cell cycle regulation by mitotic kinases in human cell lines; Function and regulation of a kinase involved in human development; Role of translation in the maintenance of kidney stem cells in catshark.
