The Mass Spectrometry Core Facility is one of the Scientific Support Services at the Roscoff Station and is part of the CNRS service unit FR2424. It is made up of two divisions:
The Metabolomic division involves the mass spectrometry of biological macromolecules and has four mass spectrometers:
The Stable Isotope division houses a gas-source isotope ratio mass spectrometer (Thermo DeltaPlus) interfaced with an elemental analyser (Flash EA1112).
The Metabolomic division determines the mass of biological macromolecules in order to try to find the corresponding metabolite. The Stable Isotope division offers services for stable isotope analyses or for quantification of nitrogen and carbon content.
A procedure for implementing a quality management system is currently being developed.
