Overview
The Roscoff Marine Station is one of three off-campus marine stations of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Sorbonne University. It hosts and organises Sorbonne University courses on site.
With its modern teaching facilities and waterfront location, the Roscoff Biological Station offers an exceptional working environment and conditions. Students also benefit from personalised support and teaching directly linked to the work carried out in the laboratories.
Our courses
Bachelor of Science Degree in Life Sciences / Dual specialisation: Biology - Mathematics
The Sorbonne University's faculty of science and engineering offers students a program of undergraduate studies with a dual specialisation in biology and mathematics.
Professional Degree in Marine Bio-Industries and Biotechnology
The Professional Bachelor's Degree in Bio-industries and Biotechnology, specializing in Marine Biotechnology, trains specialists capable of valorizing marine bio-resources in various sectors: health, cosmetics, food industry, aquaculture, and blue biotechnology.
Professional Degree in food Science
This alternating work placement/university degree programme is offered by the Sorbonne University – faculty of science and engineering in conjunction with the Higher Education Institute in Fruit and Vegetable Production and Processing (ISSFEL)
Master's Degree in Marine Biology and Bioresources (BBMa)
The Marine Biology and Bioresources (BBMa) specialisation aims to provide students with fundamental and applied training in integrative biology of marine organisms.
Master's Degree in Marine Sciences
One of the objectives of this master's program is to acquire a cultural background that enables a multidisciplinary approach to the marine environment.
Master's degree ‘biodiversity, ecology and evolution’
The objective of the 'Biodiversity, Ecology, and Evolution' specialization is to provide training on the dynamics of biodiversity and ecological systems, based on high-level research in the field.
Taxonomy of marine flora
This course is a training program focused on the recognition and identification of algae and coastal marine plants. The teaching is organized around field trips, and the collected organisms are studied in the laboratory in vivo. This hands-on approach allows students to gain solid knowledge of the systematics, biology, ecology, and evolution of algae and marine plants."
Taxonomy of marine fauna
This course is an intensive Master's level (M1) training in marine biology focused on the taxonomic expertise of marine fauna from natural coastal and littoral environments. It brings together experts and students from across Europe."
Established and Emerging Model organisms for Marine Science (Schmid Training Course). MU4BM113
During this training, students will meet scientists working with a broad range of marine organisms (acoels, brown algae, annelids, marine bacteria, cephalochordates, cartilaginous fish, cnidarians, echinoderms, sponges, placozoa, tunicates) and will discover with them why these models are central for research in biology.
Trainin courses for professionnals
The Roscoff Marine Station organizes professional training courses throughout the year.
