The first experiment of autonomous and high frequency measurements at the station biologique de Roscoff, were obtained throughwas the implementation,  on thebottom, of SBE 39 mooring systems, from Sea-bird inc, on the sea floor.


The first point locationwas located near the Bloscon cardinal buoy, which was installedin 2003. The sensor, protected by a stainless frame, is fixed on a concrete platform at 19 m depth.


Measurements are made every 10 minutes. The water column height is also measured too during the scheduled cycle scheduled (pressure measurement) : this parameter provides data on the tidal cycles.


These sensors are removed by divers every 3 months for maintenance:anti-fouling, batteries battery replacement….
