CYTOWIN is a Windows 3.1
program designed to analyse flow cytometer data.
CYTOWIN can analyse flow cytometer data in one of the following
forms : single parameter histograms, two-parameter cytograms and list
mode. It can analyze data generated by the following instruments:
- Coulter: EPICS 5, Profile or Elite
- Becton Dickinson: FACScan, FACSort, FACSAria
- Cytomation CICERO.
It can also analyse other distributions stored as ASCII files such
as Coulter Counter volume distributions. Its main advantages are the
speed of processing and the possibility to directly recover statistics
in worksheet format.
CYTOWIN has been written by D. Vaulot from CNRS, Station Biologique, BP 74 29682 Roscoff Cx FRANCE,
with help from Jeff Dusenberry (MIT). It is free of charge provided it
is used for scientific purposes and provided the following citation is
used in scientific papers:

You can also obtain information on analysis protocols in the following chapter:

cytometric analysis of phytoplankton, bacteria and viruses. 1999. In:

11.11.1-11.11.15.
Latest versions (available in the download section )
- Cytowin 4.31 - Compiled November 2004
- CytoWin
can read FACSAria files saved as FCS2.0 in 1024 channels (cannot read
native FACSAria files or FCS 3.0). [Note if you have Version 4.2 please
upgrade to 4.31 since BD Aria software has changed the way files are
exported to FCS format)
- Maximum number of parameters extended to 12 including Time.
- Configuration
file format has changed since the previous version (4.1). Therefore
they cannot be directly read. Instead use the Menu Item “Import
Configuration File 4.1 or older”.
