Collaborations
The SBR is the scientific coordinator of the Network of Excellence “Marine Genomics Europe”.
Several SBR groups also are involved with the NoEs “MARBEF and EUROCEANS”.
The SBR aims at becoming a European Marine Biological Resources Centre and is currently finalizing a formal research partnership with the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), which includes the implementation of SBR-EMBL research partnership chairs, with plans for hiring two new research groups, in 2006 and 2007. EMBL will provide assistance to the SBR in facilitating access to their facilities, instrumentation and databases.
The SBR is also engaged into a priority programme in marine ecology with the Center for Advanced Studies in Ecology and Biodiversity (CASEB) from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica of Santiago de Chile (Laboratoire International Associé “Dispersal and Adaptation in Marine Species"). This will provide the ESTeam fellows with exposure to advanced research in ecology, in a developing non-European country.
